  • 12/31/2006 - YCL completes successful pilot of Medical HomeSM platform utilizing in-home devices, videophone conferencing, patient alerting, and physician reports
    YCL used its Medical Home® platform to manage a seven-month program for seniors in the greater Chicago area. The program, working with a group of seniors averaging greater than 84 years old, showed that technology was both effective and well-accepted by seniors in their homes. The program utilized automated in-home monitoring of vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, and weight) along with two-way video-based nurse visits, to track patients’ health conditions on a weekly basis. The program developed comprehensive and valid health information for use by the primary care physician, and also provided early warning to potentially severe situations. As importantly, the technology was employed in a way that seniors found comfortable and supporting. More detailed results from the program were tabulated and submitted for publication.
